Position is based in Newport News. Essential Job Functions: - Support and work closely with Peninsula and Williamsburg volunteers to plan and implement Walk to End Alzheimer’s, a national signature event. - Work in partnership with colleagues who oversee team recruitment and sponsorship to solicit and cultivate past and new teams and sponsors. - Identify and participate in local health fairs to promote Walk to End Alzheimer’s and chapter programs. - Conduct community presentations about Association programs/services and opportunities for engagement. Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Marketing-related field - May substitute 2-year degree (AA) and 2 years work experience in nonprofit organization, event planning/management or sales field - Strong written and verbal communications - Accustomed in working with volunteer groups - Exceptional time management skills - Engaging, creative, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented personality - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and publication design applications (including Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point, Adobe, and Quark) - Ability to work evenings and weekends - Driver’s license and access to personal vehicle to meet travel requirements Salary is $14.00 per hour.
